Internationally acclaimed lutenist, Jacob Heringman, coached a group of amateur lutenists in the art of accompanying Psalms, using the recently-rediscovered music of composer Richard Allison, in a service of Choral Evensong to celebrate the final day of the Farley Festival (Wiltshire). An intergenerational amateur choir was led by Director of Music Colin Howard, and a professional quartet led each voice part. Historical dialectician, Alison Daniell, coached the singers and the congregation in the dialect of 1599 allowing the whole community to be immersed in the sounds of the day. The event was an fundraising event for our Makaton Mass project.
