At St Thomas’s Church, Salisbury
Friday 8th March 2019 6pm
As usual the service was entirely led by, composed by, and written by
women and includes music and texts from the 17th Century to the present day.
We were honoured to welcome The Right Revd Karen Gorham, Bishop of Sherborne, who preached at this service. Godolphin School Vocal Ensemble, directed by Olivia Sparkhall, with Katie Salomon, (harp), gave the world première of 'Love was his meaning' by Gemma McGregor. This work has since been published in our Anthology of Sacred Music by Women Composers, Volume 2. Prayers and readings were written and led by pupils from St Edmund's Girls School, coached by Juliet Swan.
